Richard Sticken's
asked us to fit & pipe an intercooler he had purchased elsewhere to his VL
Commodore. What a job. I know why it was sold cheap. We
had to fabricate new tanks, remove the air condenser & a gusset to make it
fit. Mucho work, but end result worth it for him
This is the bottom bracket. Not really overkill as it carries all the
'coolers weight.
We made this bracket to support the OE. pipes.
The pipe work turned out neat & minimum restrictions.
Unfortunately any design with a side or rear facing throttle body, will
suffer some heat soak (a few degrees depending) if the pipes aren't
insulated. Mandrel bent mild steel (which we don't do) HPC coated will
actually do a more efficient job, if you want maximum cooling! Underbonnet
temps. from exhaust, radiator & engine are high.
