This is the radiator we made too
cool the 302 Windsor. We cut the radiator support panel out wider & had
to make these mounting tabs to compensate. has an auto trans cooler in
the bottom tank too stabilize the oil temp. It has a 2500 rpm stall, so
the temperature buildup is not that high.
You can see the trouble we went to in the front of the radiator at
the top to seal it off from air being able to flow over the top tank.
The profiled strip also serves as the top 16" fan mount. There is not
enough room at the rear for a fan.
Note how snug the sealing strip fits to the radiator support panel.
Air has trouble passing through a 55mm thick core & so it needs to be
sealed so the air can't spill around the side.
